Training at The Jungle is more than just learning BJJ, Muay Thai or even MMA—it’s about embracing a culture of respect, discipline, and teamwork. Whether you’re brand new or a seasoned athlete, following basic gym etiquette helps ensure a safe, welcoming, and focused environment for everyone.
Start With Respect
Respect begins the moment you step into the gym. Always remove your shoes before stepping onto the mats, and take a moment to bow as you enter or leave—a simple gesture that honors both the space and the art of Jiu-Jitsu. If you arrive late, wait off the mats until the coach invites you to join. This helps preserve the flow of the class and demonstrates respect for your teammates and instructors.
Cleanliness Is Non-Negotiable.
Maintaining good hygiene is essential in any martial arts environment.
Wear clean training gear to every session.
Shower regularly and keep fingernails and toenails trimmed.
Wear shoes when using the bathroom to avoid bringing germs onto the mats.
These small but crucial habits protect everyone from infections and keep our training space healthy.
Be a Good Teammate
Training is a partnership. Show your teammates and coaches respect by:
Training with control—we’re here to learn, not to injure.
Listening actively to instructions and feedback.
Supporting each other’s growth, regardless of skill level or background.
By cultivating mutual respect and accountability, we build a community where everyone can thrive.
Follow these simple principles, and you’ll not only progress faster—you’ll help make The Jungle a place where everyone can grow together.
